JANS is open access, meaning articles can be used and reused indefinitely. Authors pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs of the peer review process, professional production of articles in PDF and other formats, article hosting, distribution of published papers in various venues, liaison with abstracting and indexing services, and customer service. There are no fees for articles that are rejected, no submission fees, and no surcharges for article length, figures, or supplementary data. Some items (such as editorials, corrections, addendums, retractions, and comments) are published for free. The number of published pages will determine the price; each page will cost $25. If the total number of pages is less than eight, the minimum APC will be $200. Low-income authors, students, and postgraduates will be exempt from paying 50% of the total APCs (please contact the editor-in-chief for such a waiver).
