Abstract |
|
In this study, we highlighted the vital role played by the economic, political, and diplomatic agreements and treaties that were reached between some European countries and the Ottoman Empire, and we discussed the impact of those agreements on the relations between European communities and some Ottoman states, including Egypt. The study also focused on examining the role of foreign privileges that resulted from these diplomatic agreements and treaties, and discussed how European diplomats benefited from them in carrying out multiple activities in the social, economic, religious, and legal fields, whether for themselves or for members of their communities in Egypt, and what resulted from this successful interaction when these ambassadors were able European consuls and their agents are able to represent their countries efficiently in Egypt, by organizing and directing consular and diplomatic activities in accordance with the international agreements reached with the Ottoman Empire, with the aim of protecting their communities and defending their interests with all seriousness and attention.
