The Involvement of Parents of Special Needs Students in Schools in Saudi Arabia

Abstract
The communication between parents of special needs students and the students teachers is considered as the most important part of the students’ educational journey. However, since Saudi Arabia has not yet built a strong educational system that provides students with best educational services that grantees their success inside and outside schools, it is still not clear of the parents of special needs are involved in their children’s education. Therefore, this study was done to get a deep understanding of the experience of special education teachers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from teachers perception about the parents’ involvement on their children education. The result of the study was revealed as that teachers’ success of their communications with parents in relation to their understanding of the level of education the parents possessed. The teachers also positive to that parents’ participation varies based on their child disabilities as well as the academic and social activities when provided in the school and not.
