The influence of double scattering effects on coherent p0-photoproduction on the deuteron is studied in the energy
region near the h-production threshold at backward center-of-mass angles of the outgoing pion. The model is based on the impulse
approximation and double scattering diagrams with intermediate production of both p- and h-mesons. Numerical results for the
differential cross section and tensor target asymmetries are predicted and compared with available experimental data and other
theoretical models. The effects of double scattering are found to be much larger in the tensor target asymmetries than in the differential
cross section. Compared to the experimental data from CLAS Collaboration, sizeable discrepancies are found. |
