Abstract |
|
This study aimed to identify the habits and patterns of Jordanian media professionals who experienced podcasting and the motives for their exposure to it. This study is classified as descriptive-analytical research, which relied on the survey methodology, where the sample of the study consisted of (217) items from the study community, represented by Jordanian Media Professionals working in the media sector of various kinds. The researcher also relied on the interview tool for a sample of (6) items from Jordanian journalists who produce podcasting to enrich research. The study found that Jordanian Media Professional’s interviewees experienced the podcasting (Mostly), and they spend (an hour or less) watching its programs. The study also showed that the most prominent types of podcasting that Media Professionals follow are podcast interviews, followed by dialogical podcasts, which address social issues in the first place, followed by political issues. The study revealed that ritual motives led the respondents to use podcasting more than utilitarian motives. Most notably (allows listeners to listen alone, New and attractive methods of topics). It also showed that the degree of challenges facing the spread of podcasting in Jordan is (Significant) with an average mean of (2.39). Most notably, the lack of financial and moral support from institutions and companies to support podcasting programs. Jordanian media professionals listen to podcasts due to gender and age group variables. |
