Abstract |

| This work proposed a new probability distribution called Gompertz-Shanker distribution derived from Gompertz-G family of distributions. Some useful properties of the distribution were presented include: moment and its related measures like the expected value, variance, coefficient of variation, skewness, moment generating, survival, hazard, reversed hazard function and order statistics. The maximum likelihood estimation method is used to estimate the model parameters. Then, we apply the model to two real data sets to reveal its flexibility and applicability in real life situations over other competing distributions and simulation also considered in the research.
