Abstract |
|
The aim of the present work is extended from information about the interaction of gamma rays with PADC and Makrofol polymeric detectors to introduce the basis that could be used in concerning simple sensors for gamma ray. The irradiation effects on both optical and structural properties of this polymeric detectors have been investigated. The modification of the optical and structural properties of two types of detectors is investigated using Ultraviolet / visible (UV/Vis) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD).The UV-Vis spectra of irradiated samples show that the absorption edge is shifted towards a longer wave length comparing to pristine sample spectrum. The optical band-gap is determined using Tauc plot, while the band –gap is decreased after irradiation. The XRD patterns of both pristine and irradiated samples show changes in the structure due to gamma rays exposure |
