Abstract |
|
This paper proposes modified exponential ratio type estimators for the estimation of finite population mean in case of simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR) scheme. The expressions of Bias and mean square error (MSE) for the proposed estimators have been evaluated theoretically. The optimum values of the non zero constants Q and P for the proposed estimators have also been determined. The estimators proposed in this study were found to be more efficient than the mean per unit estimator, ratio type estimator of Cochran [1], exponential ratio type estimators of Bahl & Tuteja [4] and Singh et al. [7]. The performance of proposed estimators has also been evaluated empirically.
