This paper deals with an effective video transmission in communication networks by maintaining the quality parameters of the transmitted video file within the desired value. In this work, the Forward Error Correction (FEC) method is proposed to reduce
the distortion in video transmission with H.264 video encoder. Initially, the packet distortion model is derived based on the error concealment property and error propagation effect in H.264 encoder. The transmission medium induces various noises which are
transmitted to the transmission medium induces various noises which are transmitted to the receiver. Hence, the Channel Pattern Integration (CPI) algorithm is employed to find the best channel which is free of noises, for transmitting the selected video. Then, the Hierarchical Sequence Pattern (HSP) algorithm is used to validate the errors present in the received packets. The simulation results show that the proposed FEC scheme gives the substantial increase in PSNR performance. Due to the reduced computational complexity compared to the previous scheme, the proposed CPI technique offers an increased flexibility of dynamic video transfer over packet-lossy environments. |
