Abstract |
|
In this paper, we consider the estimation problem in the case of constant-partially accelerated life tests using progressively Type-II censored samples. The lifetime of items under use condition follows the two-parameters linear exponential distribution. The maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters are obtained numerically. Approximate confidence intervals for the parameters, based on normal approximation to the asymptotic distribution of maximum- likelihood estimators, studentized-t and percentile bootstrap confidence intervals are derived. A Monte Carlo simulation study is carried out to investigate the precision of the maximum likelihood estimators and to compare the performance of the confidence intervals considered. Finally, two examples presented to illustrate our results are followed by conclusion. |
